What is 'Permaculture'?
This is something I have really been wondering... I like to garden and grow my own food, does that I automatically am doing Permaculture?
I have been composting for a long time and have learned a few things from the worms. I asked them about it and my friend Verm said he does remember seeing that word in the newspaper, but he didn't know too much about it because he had already eaten the rest of the article, while having his morning coffee grounds.

Welcome to Bistro de Terre
Where only the finest
food scraps are served
potato peels with bean shells
bad pate on wilted lettuce
fermented fruit and sour grapes
soggy toast and crusty butter
you can get it all here
with the flick of your tail
so cleanse you pallet with some mulch
and start in, eat all you desire
there's plenty to go around
cause we make more everyday!
hurray!

Kale in the Garden
Calendula: beautiful flower with healing properties
Calendula is an annual or short-lived herbaceous perennial growing from 1 to 3 feet tall. Calendula makes flowers of orange or yellow, with either single or double rows of petals. Not only is this flower very pretty and easy to grow it has many uses and it is edible. You can use the petals in salads or make teas. Calendula is also very good for the skin and has many healing properties for chafing, wounds and infections. Putting the petals in your bath water is an easy way of enjoying its soothing properties.
The part used is the whole flower, either fresh or dried.
Welcome to my garden blog
I have gardens that I care for in the forest and near the beach which makes me curious about this thing called 'Permaculture' that I hear people talking about. What I understand it just seems like common sense when making a garden around your home. I'm aware that it's important to know where your food is coming from, that's why I spend so much time in the vegetable garden. However, at times I feel I have my hands in the dirt so much that there are things I'm not seeing.
Kale- amazing veggie- easy to grow
I have been sharing Kale seeds and plants with friends and family. Plant seed 5-8 mm deep (approx 1/4- 1/2 inch).
Why create 'Puppets on Permaculture'?
I am learning what Permaculture means and I want to use puppets to document my learning and the growing process. I have started this initiative, with the help of friends, in order to fuse my creativity with my love and preservation efforts of the natural world.
